City, State: New York, NY Comments: What a delight it was to be at Richard Skipper Celebrates! The singers were all fantastic, the songs fun to revisit and the video footage stunning. Richard is a charming and talented host. He makes everyone feel welcome. I can't wait for his next show at Laurie Beechman. Thanks, Richard for all you are doing to keep cabaret and this music alive. City, State: NYC Comments: We don't think that Yip could have had a finer testimonial than Richard Skipper's production, "Richard Skipper Celebrates E.Y. 'Yip' Harburg," on his birthday, April 8 at Laurie Beechman Theatre. Between Richard's own rousing renditions of songs from "The Wizard of Oz" and the sparkling, sensitive performances by Karen Oberlin, Leslie Orofino, and Maureen Kelley Stewart, Yip was indeed done proud! Our ensemble from the Harlem Rep production of "Oz" was so honored to have the opportunity to share selections from their jazzy score and to appear with such accomplished performers as you and these three ladies. All Deena R. Harburg, President
City, State: Atlanta, GA Comments: Richard Skipper was chosen to introduce a movie at the TCM Classic Film Festival and he did an amazing job! His comments about JEZEBEL were funny, insightful, and he was terrific on camera and in front of the audience. Thank you Richard! Yacov Freedman, Turner Classic Movies
City, State: Atlanta, Georgia & Charleston, South Carolina Website: www.thepaulleslie.com Comments: What if there was a media world where people were celebrated instead of berated? What if people who make meaningful art were given a platform? What if artists were presented with love, respect and polish? There is such a world and it's Richard Skipper Celebrates. I'm always glad I visited. Paul Leslie,www.thepaulleslie.com
City, State: Philadelphia, Pa Comments: Richard Skipper knocked it out of the park again with his Yip Harburg celebration of his music. (Richard Skipper Celebrates...Yip Harburg 4/8/17). He is so personable that I feel like I'm a guest in his living room. His musical guests Anita Gillette, Leslie Orofino, Maureen Kelley Stewart, Harlem Repertory Theater) were wonderful as well.
