I had a wonderful time at Richard Skipper Celebrates on September 25th at The Triad!  What a show!  It did my heart good to see Richard being brilliant onstage. It's what he was born to do. He's great at promoting shows too - but Richard onstage is special!  I'm not a reviewer, but if i were I'd give this show a giant cheer! I'm looking forward to the Halloween show.

Richard Skipper celebrates on September 25th was very enjoyable. Melba Moore was the mystery guest and I was very surprised. I highly recommend seeing future events by Richard Skipper.

Hi Richard!
I saw Richard Skipper Celebrates September 25 last Sunday night. What a terrific show Richard put together! And Richard was in the show. He was so engaging, so charming and so very talented.  The talent of the rest of the performers was through the roof and that includes the band, led by Michael Lavine.  Klea Blackhurst was channeling her inner Ethel Merman with her own inner pathos, David Maiocco was a very convincing and talented Liberace, Sue Matsuki was a very vulnerable and talented soloist, Shari Pine soared with her rendition of Home and Andrea Wolper was a talented jazz vocalist. And Tony winner Melba Moore was the surprise guest! She sounds better than ever! I bought her newly released CD which she autographed for me.
Run to any show that Richard Skipper is involved with, you won't be disappointed!
Thank you Richard for inviting me.

Bravo!!!!  Richard, I'm still "kvelling" over Sunday night's show at the Triad.  There were so many highlights, I barely know where to begin.  The majority of performers were new to me -- a couple I'd heard of before but had never seen perform -- but here we go.  First, you were fabulous! Wonderful singing, and your quick, witty repartee, especially "in the moment," was on the money! The Liberace impersonator, David Maiocco, was terrific. I could listen to Andrea Wolper's sultry voice all night (any relation to the late, great David Wolper?).  Klea Blackhurst truly does justice to the legacy of Ethel Merman (and frankly, is a far better singer).  Sue Matsuki was great.  And WOW -- Mystery Guest Melba Moore alone was worth the price of admission!  I was at her birthday party at the Metropolitan Room last year. I first saw her in "Purlie" in 1970, when I was um, zero years old?  Okay, 14.  That's right, I heard her do "I've Got Love" on Broadway! But also, the ambience, the decorations, the way everyone dressed up like they would in the old days.  And so many notable stars in the audience -- it really felt like it must have looked on Sunday nights at the Ed Sullivan show or Kraft Musical Hall specials.  By the way, when I got home I learned we lost Arnold Palmer that night, or we could have toasted him with a glass of iced tea with lemonade.  - Andrew Poretz

Richard, I should've posted days ago but things do come up. Your show Sunday really lifted my spirits. To pick up a line from a song we all know -- Everything about it was appealing!! Everyone had smiles on their faces throughout. You were great and so were the performers joining you. More, more, more. Esther
