Oh What A Night it was last night (May 5th, 2015)! I was honored to be part of a very special evening at The Metropolitan Room, honoring the lovely and incomparable Julie Budd, their newly appointed Artist In Residence. Julie is an amazing and singular talent. Said talent is surpassed only by her beautiful and kind heart. The reception was put together by Julie's debonair publicist, Richard Skipper, a man who sure knows from talent. Julie's family and friends filled the room with admiration and love for this special lady. And yes, there were quite a few luminaries of stage and screen enjoying champagne and hors d'oeuvres! Bernard Furshpan, the Metropolitan Room's Booking Manager, gave a warm welcome to Julie as she took the stage to loud applause. Accompanied by Sean Harkness on guitar, Julie did as sublime a rendition of 'Moon River' as you will ever hear, just gorgeous. Afterwards, there were hugs, mingling, and pictures, of course! Julie will be gracing the stage of The Metropolitan Room on May 14th at 7pm. Friends, please treat yourselves to an incredible night of music and song with Julie, if you haven't already gotten tickets. Sit back, enjoy, and bask in the glow of a once in a lifetime voice and lady. Love ya, Julie AND Richard Skipper

Richard Skipper hosted my 30th Birthday Celebration in support of Rockland Pride. There was not one person in the room who wasn't moved by his wit, passion, and perfect coordination and flow of the performers. His performance, as well as the cohort of performers he organized was exemplary. I highly recommend Richard- a person of talent with a big heart that warms the room.

April 2015
Dear Richard,

On behalf of the Rockland Alliance for Health (RAH) and its Board of Directors, thank you for your  “masterful” master of ceremonies work at our recent fundraiser, HIP TO BE SQUARE, held on March 28, 2015 in partnership with People to People.

You were the perfect MC ----thank you for getting into the spirit of the “hoe-down” theme and helping everyone have a great time.

The funds raised from the event will go toward People to People’s It’s In the Bag Program and RAH’s mini-grants to the local community.

RAH is a small 501c3 not-for-profit that works within Rockland County to fund grass-roots projects that improve the health of our community. Our grants have helped build community gardens, playgrounds and work-site programs across our county.  We want to assure that every county resident has access to healthier foods and multiple opportunities for physical activity.  Our vision is to build the healthiest county in the nation.

Thank you again ---we hope you will consider working with us in the future.

Sincerely,

 Joan H. Facelle, M.D., MPH

Board President.

Sunday afternoon, April 19th, 2015. A glorious day outside and indoors at the Helen Hayes Hospital. For the 15th year,  the wonderful Richard Skipper brought his show there. This year he brought along Peggy Eason and Bryon Sommers. It was a true cabaret in the lobby of the hospital. Richard's hosting this event was honest and loving. His singing and interacting with the audience was better then most. Peggy is the most positive person there is. Another singer equal to some of the greats. Bryon, what could one say? A pianist that can lift your spirits with any song. Please do more of this all three of you. Love your spirit.

I would like to Thank Richard, Peggy Eason and Bryon Somers for a Wonderful Performance at The Helen Hayes Hospital Atrium on Sunday. My Mom, Joan Brennan-O'Neill  and I met Richard many years ago when he first came to New York, through my late Godmother  Mildred Brown. Even back then we knew Richard would be a Star. He has a wonderful voice, and makes everyone feel at home. He was particularly attentive to the audience, which included patients, and two little girls, Olivia and Grace. Richard was also joined by the Chocolate Diva herself, Peggy Eason, who is an inspiration, that no matter what happens to you in life, when you have the will, you will succeed. I also wish to Thank Bryon Somers for his accompanying Peggy and Richard on the piano and his enjoyable original song. Although we had not seen Richard perform in a long time, it brought back many happy memories. It was also the first time my wife Kathy had seen Richard perform and she along with my Mom and myself hope to see him again very soon.
