How? one may ask? I shall tell you. There aren't many who have the generous gift of grace, awareness,respect, for the work that has been done by others..For someone as young as he is in terms of the road he has already traveled, and will continue to do so..I must thank him for presenting me with a glorious evening in MY HONOR on March 25th to benefit The Spiral Theatre Company! Wow, what a surprise he gave me! I had forgotten so many things I had done..but he had not! He even did some research! He left me feeling Loved and remembered as an ARTIST! Thanks Richard , from one artist to another….. Thank you, Sondra Lee
City, State: , Ct.Putnam Comments: I have posted on Facebook my joy at being at "An Evening with Sondra Lee". Richard Skipper led the evening with charm, grace, and gave Ms. Lee a perfect setting to share her life with us. It left me wanting more! Thanks to Richard, Paula J. Riley for her unique and creative Spiral Theatre Studio and to Daniel Sherman for his creation of the film on Sondra's work in theatre! As one who started her theatrical life with Hello Dolly in the 60's (Mary Martin(the states, Japan, Vietnam, Korea and Okinawa), Betty Grable(the states and Las Vegas), Ginger Rogers(the states), Ginger Rogers and Dorothy Lamour sharing shows in Vegas and out on the road again with Rogers until I left the show at the age of nineteen. I had the privilege of understudying Sondra Lee when she joined our Ginger Rogers Company in Los Angeles for just that booking. Our most interesting backstage visitor was introduced to us by Miss Rogers....the great Fred Astaire!

Wonderful retrospective of Ms. Lee's colorful life and stellar career, and both she and Richard were delightful, charming, and overflowing with positive energy!! Richard Skipper should host his own national TV talk show, and I think he'd make a splendid and charismatic emcee for the Oscars!

City, State: Montclair,N.J. Comments: Richard Skipper's "Hello Dolly" program at the NY Sheet Music Society's January meeting was sensational. It was one of the best programs we ever had.! Havaihng so many people from numerous Dolly productions talking about their experiences during Dolly's 50th anniversary celebration was inspiring and fascinating. Richard was stupedous. .He filled the room with his enthusiasm and warmth and asked such intelligent provocative questions. |
