Richard made our annual visit to Ptown for my birthday very special. His performance was amazing! He’s such a gifted singer! I could feel the power of his voice and passion. So glad we met him as we were walking by the Post Office Cafe and told us about his show that night. So glad we went! Wow!

I’ve been a big fan of Richard’s for a long time and of course know him in recent years as an amazing host and “celebrator” of so many wonderful talents. With that said, I wasn’t sure what to expect for his solo show Richard Skipper: The Magic of Believing. I knew there’d be stories and songs and I knew that Richard would bring the flair and humor he brings to his podcast. What I wasn’t expecting was the total WOW from the show from start to finish! Weaving together his stories with random questions plucked from the audience, he had me at one moment in stitches and the next near tears from his heartwarming and genuine recounting of his life in the biz. I knew some of it, but a lot I was hearing for the first time. The journey he took us on was both heartwarming and uplifting. But the most impressive thing about the evening for me was that man’s pipes! He can still bring a house down with his vocals and he can also draw you close with his softer tones. And of course he had us all singing with him because that’s Richard - he loves to celebrate and not just himself but everyone in the room. There’s something wrong if this show doesn’t sell out all over the place. Thank you Richard, for a glorious evening as only you can present! Bravo!

Richard reminds me of underrated talk show host Merv Griffin, bubbling with endearing child-like enthusiasm; quick on his feet with a quip but always keeping the focus on the guest's career and what he/she has to say.
