City, State: London, U.K. Comments: Hi Richard, As a very successful vaudeville comedy team working on four continents, I have enjoyed the company of many talented people, as did my wife, who was a dancer and choreographer. You most certainly can take your place among them! Let me explain. Your amazing ability to LISTEN intently to the narrative of your guests is awesome. Your facial expressions say it all. You empathize and appear to get completely absorbed in what is being said, only interposing to enhance the narrative. You make it seem like you are having a friendly conversation in your home and you do it with such charm, grave, style and pizzazz. In my wonderful time in the US I have seen many interviewers, they are much of a muchness. None of them have the selflessness you show to your guests. My wife and I watched your programme for the first time when you interviewed our daughter Becky O'Brien. We were spellbound! We have since watched many of your newer interviews as well as episodes from your back catalogue. To paraphrase a Ronald Reagan movie LET'S HAVE A WIN FOR THE "SKIPPER" Pascal and June O'Brien, London, U.K.
City, State: NY NY Comments: Richard, you made me come up with answers I never knew I had! Such were the stimulating and provocative queries you formulated for me. The hour flew by and I thank you for presenting me and Judy in such an entertaining fashion. You are building an archive of theatrical interviews that must be preserved: maybe in the Billy Rose Theatre collection at Lincoln Center. I'm so glad we're friends. Long may you thrive...for all of us! John.

City, State: Staten Island, NY Comments: Richard, I have referred a good number of luminaries to you for interviews, and you have done a great job of celebrating each of them. I have been on with Kassira McKee twice on "Let That Go" and also enjoyed speaking with you. You are always reachable and approachable. Thank you so much. |
