City, State: NYC Website: https://open.spotify.com/artist/66YmKV2wMYvYVOWPeE6HcM Comments: Dear Richard, Thank you for the wonderful 'conversation' and all the great questions which I'm still processing today! Naturally, I've been thinking too about all the things I didn't talk about - my love of language and the importance of words (lyrics), my mother's wonderful baritone voice and how she would sing when she played the piano and what a huge impetus that was for me. It also allowed me to be comfortable with my own low voice. (I used to tell people I was a dramatic tenor(!) - but I've since learned that I'm a contralto, the rarest and the lowest female voice. Maybe one day, we'll do a Part 2! You really asked thought- provoking questions in an open- ended sort of way that I'm sure allowed the people listening to pose the same questions to themselves. No wonder RICHARD SKIPPER CELEBRATES is such a success! BRAVO! and Thank you! XOX! Karen Akers (Urban Stages, 12/10/21)
City, State: Secaucus, NJ Website: bartshatto.com Comments: Richard, you are the consummate interviewer. Part Charlie Rose, part Merv Griffin and Phil Donahue. Loving, respectful but probing. Always questioning: What is the next layer we can peel to find out more about this individual? This is sort of an "Autopsy" of an interview. Get ready, listeners. No softball questions. This is "Game On!", folks. Kind, respectful but never obsequious (I hate that!) Richard allows the flow of conversation to take shape like a beautiful banquet - so much to choose from and parse but eventually feeling satiated at the end. Thank you, Richard. You brought out the BEAUTY in me that i never knew existed.
