City, State: Conway SC Comments: Richard Skipper's recent one man show, "From Conway to Broadway," is a wonderful, creative job of musical theatre storytelling. The mood, the pace, the songs and anecdotes--all made for a great evening of theatre. The Conway section brought back a lot of memories--Florence Epps and "Molly Brown" and his performances on the front steps of Conway High School. And his first experiences of New York were hilarious! City, State: Brooklyn, NY Comments: It was an honor and a pleasure to be part of the 100th birthday celebration for Marge Champion at Dancers over 40, and the entire event only happened because of Richard Skipper's energy to make it happen. He also ran the panel sensitively, and the film of us singing "Happy Birthday" to Marge was a great idea of a present for her. Richard's gift to the audience was the Gershwin song, performed with style and lyric charm, by the elegant Ms Jackson. Thank you, Richard! Vive Marge!! City, State: Conway, SC Comments: I was lucky enough to see Richard Skipper perform in his hometown of Conway, SC! My mom was a classmate of Richard’s and when we heard of the performance, we immediately bought tickets. Let me just say, the show was phenomenal! Richard’s persistence in chasing his dreams gave me chills and although I never knew him personally, I felt instantly connected to his life’s journey! It was so excited to hear the story of his goals unfold and it was such a pleasure to hear his beautiful voice throughout the show! I can’t wait to see him again, and hopefully in NYC!! City, State: Conway, SC Comments: Richard Skipper's show on Sept 28 in his hometown, Conway, SC, was simply outstanding. It was funny, heartwarming, and brought back so many memories. I thoroughly enjoyed every minute. My 18-year-old grandson attended the show with me, and he absolutely loved it, too. Good, clean fun and exquisite talent!
