He has the unique gift of authentically, poignantly telling his inspiring story while thoroughly entertaining all. He makes a huge theatre his living room and each of us become family. (How much do we need that today?!) His voice is in great form, and so is his comic timing. It was a beautifully crafted nostalgic tapestry of vivid storytelling, spot on musical numbers, and perfectly timed photographic images and videos. I loved the thought that a little boy with boundless energy and dreams performing on the front porch “stage” of his family home could take an audience full of adults on a hilarious and heartfelt journey to discovering the magic of believing. Richard has such an engaging and charismatic presence onstage and nothing seems to throw him. And he has a great voice, as well. The story of his journey from Conway to New York was so intriguing.
