City, State: NYC Website: http://caroledemas.com/ Comments: Richard Skipper generously shares his praise of others where lots of people can see his words, and he deserve the same. These shows of Richard's are exciting and memorable from the beginning, and now they are better and better! The whole format just wraps up his audiences in his good will and talent, and the talents of the performers he chooses. His love for his subjects and the energy and great eye he brings to his video openings created by Michael Masci sets everyone to singing and feeling soooo good! I came away from Saturday's show (May 20th, 2017) in such a good, happy place, having thrown my cares out the door and glad to have been in that warm, loving place with Richard, his delighted audience and terrific fellow entertainers. There's nobody doing what he does- he has absolutely created a wonderful experience for himself and everyone else lucky enough to be in the room. I know how much work this is, how many details there are to remember- it's a huge commitment and he manages to deliver it as if it's just one big happy party (which it sure is)! City, State: New York, NY Comments: What a delight it was to be at Richard Skipper Celebrates! The singers were all fantastic, the songs fun to revisit and the video footage stunning. Richard is a charming and talented host. He makes everyone feel welcome. I can't wait for his next show at Laurie Beechman. Thanks, Richard for all you are doing to keep cabaret and this music alive. City, State: NYC Comments: We don't think that Yip could have had a finer testimonial than Richard Skipper's production, "Richard Skipper Celebrates E.Y. 'Yip' Harburg," on his birthday, April 8 at Laurie Beechman Theatre. Between Richard's own rousing renditions of songs from "The Wizard of Oz" and the sparkling, sensitive performances by Karen Oberlin, Leslie Orofino, and Maureen Kelley Stewart, Yip was indeed done proud! Our ensemble from the Harlem Rep production of "Oz" was so honored to have the opportunity to share selections from their jazzy score and to appear with such accomplished performers as you and these three ladies. All Deena R. Harburg, President
City, State: Atlanta, GA Comments: Richard Skipper was chosen to introduce a movie at the TCM Classic Film Festival and he did an amazing job! His comments about JEZEBEL were funny, insightful, and he was terrific on camera and in front of the audience. Thank you Richard! Yacov Freedman, Turner Classic Movies |
