Ms. Champion regaled the audience with fascinating tales of her illustrious career, and was well supported by host Richard Skipper (who should have his own TV celebrity talk show!). Comments: Thank you, Richard Skipper and Marge Champion, for transporting us back to the Golden Eras of Disney and MGM studios, and Classic American Entertainment in general! As always with his guests, with each question Richard set up a "platform" for Ms. Champion to take us behind the scenes and let us know what it was like to produce and live these iconic moments in American popular culture -- and thus appreciate all of this wonderful work with a whole extra dimension when we see it from now on. Ms. Champion is eternally youthful, beautiful and charming and may she celebrate many more happy birthdays! As always, Richard leaves me wanting more and awaiting the next interview in his wonderful series!

NO ONE was checking their email or texting. Richard did an amazing job at asking poignant and interesting questions, while interjecting humor. Richard Skipper did an eloquent job of interviewing Marge Champion last night. He has a gift for knowing what to ask - and more, when to give the star her moments to remember so many grand stories for the eager listeners who were present. He offers her to us as the gift she is. Marge Champion brought so much to us last night, not unlike she always did on the big screen or stage. One can readily understand why Marge and the late Gower Champion remain at the top of the greatest dancers! It was an evening one will hold close to the heart for some time to come. She glows! She recalls the studio days with a vibrant, passionate excitement- and has a sense of humor that kept the audience warmed with rich laughter. She has a true warmth that wraps itself within a powerful sense of self, of talent and stardom. I am so thankful to have been there in her presence and to talk with her was a treasure indeed! She wants greater shows, beautiful true dance talent to rise and honor the arts. I, for one, intend to help soar with that ambition. Thank you, my friend, Richard Skipper for celebrating such a talent and spirit! I hope at ninety-five years old, I maintain just a bit of her energy, passion and magic! |
