The magnificent blend of history, artistry, and chemistry!!! Richard is the kind of performer that others in the business adore because he is generous, thoughtful, and effervescent—and supportive of all of us in this business with energy to spare. What a singular light! We should all be so lucky to shine in its glow.
City, State: NYC Website: https://www.lynnhendersonsinger.com/ Comments: Dear Richard, your show on Sunday night about the history and stars of the beloved show HELLO DOLLY over all these years was fascinating to the mind and nurturing to the heart. I loved all your personal anecdotes about knowing and loving Carol Channing as a friend and a mentor! The videos of all the actors who have played the role of Dolly were a perfect component of the show. I especially loved seeing Lee Roy Reams on stage telling first hand of his experiences helping a new Dolly learn about acting the part. You, Richard, are a nurturing person for all of us in this entertainment business. I thank you for that and I thank you for being so generous to us all. I wish you gratifying success on your forthcoming tour. Lynn Henderson, NYC
City, State: NYC Website: https://www.timconnell.net Comments: Richard Skipper's Celebration of 60 years of Hello Dolly - Bravo!!! Being witness to him in action from the audience, his love of all things Dolly & Carol and the theatre arts in general is infectious! Listening to him share his story I couldn't help but feel inspired by his heart sharing. And to watch him generously give the stage to Lee Roy Reams, speaks volumes to his skill as an artist and interviewer and most importantly human!!! Bravo Richard. Bravo!!! City, State: cl1751j@aol.com Website: New York Comments: Richard Skipper is a true and gracious host. He invited us into the the Laurie Beechman with such joy. And why? We were there in a packed house to learn from him and hear him sing the music of Hello Dolly, with music made famous by his dear friend and beloved Carol Channing. What a joy--Storytelling, song, video interviews of Dolly stars and cast members. I think Horace ends Dolly with the line "A wonderful woman." About Richard's show, I say, "A wonderful show!" Thanks, Richard |
