It evoked all the joy I felt seeing the show for the first time as a kid (and meeting Carol Channing afterwards). And guest Lorna Dallas, of the astonishing voice, was magical. Bravo, Richard and Lorna. A night to remember!

City, State: New York, NY Website: frankdain.com Comments: I saw Richard's show celebrating 60 years of HELLO, DOLLY! last night (3/29/24) at NYC's Laurie Beechman Theatre. Richard is a charming host and storyteller, and his knowledge of the history of DOLLY, from its source material to its long run as the musical, is vast. He presents a solid picture of how what we've come to know as HELLO, DOLLY! came to be. And he sings, too, with pure joy! He has included videos of some of those who have been a part of this show throughout the years, including one with the original Minnie Fay, Sondra Lee! Don't miss it!
City, State: NYC Comments: As a young performer with a deep adoration for the Golden Age of musical theatre, attending Richard Skipper’s cabaret celebrating the 60th anniversary of “Hello, Dolly!” felt like stepping into a time machine to those glamorous days I have only read about. I felt elation and wonder as I witnessed stories and songs about this essential period of musical theatre history. I was hanging on Richard’s every word - as was the entire audience for the entire show - as he shared beautiful, heartwarming anecdotes from his friendship with the Legend with a capital “L,” Carol Channing. It felt like Dame Carol’s stardust twinkled through Richard’s eyes, and this show felt like the closest proximity to this Legend I’ll ever experience. And for that, I feel truly lucky to have been in the room to feel the magic of “Hello, Dolly!” that has only grown over the last 60 years. Molly Craven, NYC

It hardly felt like it was an "interview"...your warm and clever personality made it feel more like old friends chatting it up!!! Thank you for your insightful and supportive questions and thank you for helping me put a spotlight on Katrina Aguilar's upcoming concert for "Autism Care Today"! |
