City, State: Eliz., New Jersey Comments: Last night's (Nov. 1, 20 book-signing by Carolyn Quinn of her book, "Mama Rose's Turn" had a full-to-capacity crowd in attendance as she gave an excellent interview and extended a tantalizing invitation to read her fact- filled and intriguing book. She also introduced to many of us, for the first time - Richard Skipper. His thought- provoking questions and comments, wittiness, sense of humor and wonderful speaking voice made you feel like you wish you could have sat there for at least another hour. Carolyn seems to be on a roll when it comes to her "detective work" and has more stage mom- themed book ideas on the front burners and possible plans for collaborations in the Hollywood area. Way to go, Carolyn- your fan club is growing and anxious to hear more about your future ventures. Kudos to Carolyn and to a new fond acquaintance, Richard Skipper. Tina Padas-Mavroudis. City, State: Mineola New York Comments: Richard Skipper did a great job November 1st, 2013 at Barnes & Noble, interviewing author Carolyn Quinn at the signing of her new book "Mama Rose's Turn"! The evening came off brilliantly for both Carolyn and Richard. BRAVO! Loria Parker, Mineola, New York
City, State: Brooklyn, NY Website: http://www.filmsofcrawford.com/theworkofdonnamarienowak/ Comments: Richard Skipper is a warm, effervescent, engaging personality and entertainer. He makes a wonderful interviewer and is a superb performer, perfect as a host. He celebrated me and my Joan Crawford book, JUST JOAN: A JOAN CRAWFORD APPRECIATION, on his blog and I attended the event he hosted at Barnes and Nobles last night for the debut of Carolyn Quinn's bio on Mama Rose, MAMA ROSE'S TURN. What a fabulous evening it was! I enjoyed it thoroughly! I look forward to more events with Richard Skipper and all his future "celebrations!" Also looking forward to his own book, CALL ON DOLLY: CELEBRATING THE FIRST FIFTY YEARS OF HELLO DOLLY! Who better to tell that story than Mr. Skipper!
City, State: New York, NY Comments: I attended the Barnes & Noble Richard Skipper interview with author, Carolyn Quinn for her New Book "Mama Rose's Turn last evening. Richard Skipper has the art of the interview down to a science. He is insightful, comedic, engages the audience and left us all wanting to read this Book.
Comments: I was very glad I went to Richard Skipper's event with Julie Budd at the Laurie Beechman Theater. Julie was the perfect guess -- and she and the audience couldn't have had a better interviewer than Richard. I felt like I was a guest at a fabulous luncheon and was privy to the Julie's best stories and memories of her life as a person and entertainer. It was a great treat to see video clips and, of course, to hear Julie sing for all of us in attendence. She was glorious. AND this event celebrating Julie was a benefit for St. Jude's Children's Hospital. Please be on the lookout for Richard Skipper's future celebrations. |
