I have told lots of folks about the fun I had and that they should go see the Carol they remember. Ken Billington, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ken_Billington
City, State: Teaneck, NJ Website: edkurtzman.com Comments: Not a false moment was witnessed by Ruth and I on the the opening of the new theater piece created by Richard Skipper as Carol Channing. Sitting there with smiles on our faces forgetting that we were not seeing our friend Richard, but Carol herself is not an easy task.He as Carol, pulls it off in the most entertaining way. What a terrific show! Give yourself a treat and go. You won't be disappointed. Ed Kurtzman, Teaneck, NJ
Website: www.adamshapiro.net Comments: I so enjoyed Richard Skipper as "Carol Channing" in Concert at St. Luke's on January 22nd. It was such a wonderful tribute and while Skipper did a wonderful job capturing her mannerisms and actions, there were some moments of pure acting that were beautiful in their own right, particularly the famous "Parade" monologue. Lovely job and I hope that everybody goes to see the show. Bravo and Brava! Adam Shapiro,www.adamshapiro.net
City, State: New york, NY Comments: What a spectacular performance. Everyone should see it. Richard really loves Carol and it shows. The first person stories and songs are joyful, wistful, transporting. Also He, uh... I mean CAROL is so terrific with the audience-- you will have a blast. Judith a Caporale, NYC
City, State: NYC Comments: I saw Richard Skipper as Carol Channing during the post-Christmas blizzard and although the weather may have deterred some attendance, Richard made everyone in the audience feel like we were at a party at which each of us was vitally important! His ability to "channel" Channing in song, as well as to speak extemporaneously as her during a live Q & A is uncanny and bespeaks his enormous affection and respect for her. It also shows her obvious regard for him which allows him such personal knowledge and accessibility. Richard is funny, touching and has incredible pipes! I laughed (a lot!), I cried and was highly entertained. Richard performs with such generosity, such heart and such spontaneity; there are precious few performers today who are so alive in the moment. -Lenore Stefanik, actress/singer/coach |
