Mr. Skipper!!! Oooops! I mean Carol (that IS what they call you, isn't it? (heeheehee) I had the best time at your show tonite! Of course I knew the music/vocals would be outstanding but the comedy was sensational. I laughed so much & loved every minute. Thank you so very much for a truly memorable evening.

I attended Richard Skipper's first show in 2011 on January 2nd and was absolutely enchanted with the performance. Such wonderful singing and so tremendously entertaining. As a salute to Carol it is flawless and for just plain fun it can't be beat. I found myself smiling from beginning to end. The disarming charm that defines Carol Channing was abundant and the innocent, wide eyed appeal was more than evident. Treat yourself to a wonderful time and see this show while you can.

Richard Skipper is back where he belongs....at the St. Lukes Theater wowing audiences as Carol Channing in his new off-Broadway show!
There is no one who can make an audience feel more comfortable and, at the show I attended, he had them in the palm of his hand. A wonderful trio accompanies Richard as he sings the songs that Carol made famous on Broadway in her long career. Don't miss this show!

I have NOT seen Richard Skipper often, but when I did, my comment is his artistry is consistent, true, and in the moment. Richard's talent is within him and cannot be taught. Even if he stood on his left ear and whistled "Dixie", Richard could not teach this to an excellent yet ordinary talent. There are well-known singers who sing, but don't make music; well-known instrumentalists who play, but don't interpret; well-known dancers who are technically brilliant, but just mime the steps; and well-known actors who act (emote) but don't simply (just) say the lines". Richard TRULY gets into the persona. He does not impersonate. Richard IS the embodiment of artistry.

If you've not yet seen Richard Skipper as Ms. Carol Channing then go see him now. Take a relative or friend with you too. I saw him here in California a few years back and was completely mesmerized and captivated by his polished act. He has charm and charisma galore but also does a great job of becoming, in front of your eyes,Dolly Levi and Lorelei Lee and is a super talented actor and singer able to transform completely into Carol Channing with seamless perfection. It was a wonderful night out and Skipper should be on Broadway in an unlimited run of either GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES or HELLO DOLLY as either or BOTH of these 2 characters that were played so beautifully by Ms. Channing.
