I'm so glad I was at Dutch Treat last week. How very entertaining to see Richard Skipper's "Carol" again - it felt great to laugh so deeply and often. He is quite the pro with the crowds and the quick repartee - really delightful.
Kudos to a great performance!

I just wanted to say that I had the very fortunate experience of FINALLY catching Richard's Performance at the Wings Theatre in the Village- in NYC.
ALL I can say is WOW. I was quite impressed and I don't give that away very easily!
Richard is truly a unique treasure. He breaks most molds for both Artists and Female Impersonators (a male Impersonating a female). I have worked with some of the best in the Industry for years. Jimmy James is one that comes to mind that also is able to embody the Artists he portrays.
While most Female Impersonators are unable to use their real voices to sound like, never the less sing like the Artists they are performing as (they usually Lip Sync everything),
Richard has the incredible ability to do both masterfully. Richards comic Timing, combined with thorough knowledge of Carol's life history is woven into an enjoyable show about the life of Carol Channing, as if she were right there delivering it herself. Richard's
show completes this journey with audience interaction and a Q & A period as Carol.
I attended this show with my daughter Halle a 4 year old, soon to be 5 going on 30! She loved it, she loves all Theatre, Dance and Singing and I suspect she is the one in our family who will soon be following in her Aunt Taylor Dayne's footsteps. Richard had another young girl, in his Sold-out audience, as well. They had to even add additional chairs for seating.
Thank-you Richard for your very kind attention to my daughter after the show, I know she will remember this for a long time to come. You are bringing Carol Channing, her life and music to a whole new generation; KUDOS.
Richard never breaks character once (the sign of a consummate professional) and the audience easily suspends their disbelief that Carol Channing is actually there. I heard someone behind me quietly state with surprise to their friend next to them, "He is a real
Artist".
Richard assembled a true cast of pros that was wonderfully led by Director Miles phillips
and Tracy Wilson's choreography and staging really made great use of Richard's supporting cast of three back-up Dancer/Singers, while musical Director Paul L. Johnson assembled a wonderful trio of piano, bass and drums that did not over power the show and greatly enhanced it.
All in all it was a fun and enjoyable time out that I believe most any audience could enjoy.
Richard's show will play to seniors, corporates, social and family audiences with great ease. I highly recommend you catch him when you can. A true treasure that I am proud to know and look forward to booking whenever possible!!

I've seen Richard Skipper perform a number of times and his tribute to Carol Channing is incredible. His impersonation of Carol is dead on, his energy is huge, his improvisational skills are phenominal, and he respects and honors Ms. Channing through it all! In fact - I know that Richard and Carol are good friends. So - if you think Carol is #1 - you might ask HER what she thinks of Richard Skipper. I'm absolutely sure she'll tell you that he is #1 as well.

I recentlyhad the pleasure to see Richard Skipper in Concert as Carol Channing at the Wings Theater and found it to be the most tasteful and family oriented show. I brought my 13 year old son to see him and he enjoyed him as well. As for Richard Skipper as Carol Channing he has captured her essence and personality and style. Keep up the great work. There should be more shows like his out there for the whole family.

I loved Richard Skipper's show! His warmth and heart are an inspiration to me as a performer. I saw more than "Carol Channing" up there, and I ate it up!
