City, State: Jersey City, NJ Comments: I saw Richard Skipper's tribute to Carol Channing at The Wings Theater. It was one of the most insightful and entertaining shows I've seen in a very long time. His portrayal was amazingly accurate, loving and respectful. I left the theater feeling that I'd just made a wonderful new friend - Carol Channing!!I can't tell you how much I enjoyed this show. It really was like sitting and having a conversation with her.Everything that I say here, if anything,is understated. He's beautiful - his voice is amazing, his humor and generosity in terms of the people with whom he shares the stage - all combine to create an unforgettable performance. I wish that I were a reviewer, or somebody in a position of "clout", because this show should be seen by anyone who has ever had an appreciation for musical theater.
