I saw Richard's show on opening night and I have to say: Fantastic. I most appreciated that there was absolutely ZERO caricature. He personified Carol without a pinch of sarcasm. An amazing tribute to an amazing lady performed with insight, class, and style.

Wow! I've seen "Carol/Richard" perform about a half dozen times and like Carol (and Richard) the show keeps getting better with age! And those back up singers!! Not only cute and adorable, but fantastic singers. This particular show really gave us a more in-depth Carol. It was informative about her life as well as entertaining and funny! Richard's comedic timing is just wonderful. Great show, don't miss it when it comes to your town!

I worked with Carol Channing for two and a half years in the original HELLO DOLLY. There aren't too many people still around who go back more than 40 years with her, so I have more than just a nodding acquaintance with what makes her Carol. Richard Skipper has presented Carol Channing in such a way that even her close friends do a double take. His new two-hour, theatre version of his cabaret show goes even beyond that. It's a superb evening presented by a consummate entertainer, and the theatrical setting allows even more audience interaction because of the greater numbers of people. Miles Phillips' direction has brought it to a MUST SEE level of entertainment I personally haven't witnessed in years. My wife, Christine Kelley Karel, and I have seen Richard's show (the theatre version) twice and his cabaret performance even more often. We think Richard is a superstar in every respect. His voice, his performance savvy and the magnificent overall presentation are simply incomparable. If you want to be entertained by a performer who immediately becomes your friend the moment he comes out on stage, Richard Skipper is the one to see.

I have always thought of Richard Skipper AS Richard Skipper, but after seeing a recent performance, it's given me cause for thought. For over the two hour musically and biographically creative show, Richard was so much more "Carol" than I have ever found him. His ability to work the stage and the audience in such a creative and energetic manner is quite fabulous-Jan Wallman and I were just blown away. He's GOT to keep doing it!

It was both pleasure and privilege to be in the audience for Richard and Carol's recent closing night "celebration" in New York City. (It would be minimizing the overall effect to label that evening a "performance"; there was just too much camaraderie and affection and joy in the air to categorize the experience as just another show.) The opportunity to share songs and spontaneity with a legend comes along very infrequently. With Richard's Carol as guide, ringleader, den mother, and lion tamer, you get wondrous, wondering, and genuine laughter -- and a unique Broadway history lesson -- all in one.
