City, State: NYC Comments: Loved it, loved it, loved it! The larger "environ" worked perfectly for the show. Every time I see Richard Skipper's shows, I seem to learn something new about Carol. It was also fun listening to people's comments who had never seen him perform. Everyone was so impressed and had such a fun time watching Richard last night. I had planned to come with some friends on Sunday (today), but when I went on line to make a reservation, I realized the show ended Saturday. I'm so glad I was able to rush down to the theater and get a seat. The woman sitting beside me said she was on a standby list and barely got in. Thanks again for a wonderful evening. City, State: New Yor, N.Y. Comments: Without a doubt the evening spent the other night at the Wing's Theatre was a pure delight. My only complaint was that the evening came to a close. I truly hope that Richard Skipper will be back here in the Big Apple soon.......we need, and do appreciate, his talent. Continued success wherever he performs. Fred
City, State: New York City Comments: I had the best time! After the first three minutes, I forgot I was watching Richard Skipper and became completely enthralled by Carol Channing. City, State: Union, NJ Comments: Well Hello Richard! It is so nice to have you [back] where you belong! - "Carol Channing in Concert" at the Wings Theatre on Christopher Street in New York City. Now it is the audiences who are overjoyed and overwhelmed by Richard Skipper's transformation in to the warm and talented Carol Channing. Throughout the evening Richard's loving & genuine delivery of anecdotes, history, and wonderful song made me forget that I was not actually watching and spending an evening with Carol Channing herself. What a fantastic evening of pure warmth and delight. Richard is superb as Carol. Kudos to the musicians and the talented guys providing accompaniment & back up to Richard/Carol. For anyone up for an evening of lighthearted fun, laughter, and enduring tunes, this concert is a MUST. Thank you Richard!
City, State: Spring Valley, NY Comments: Richard Skipper is sugar and spice as well as a bit of a hot toddy. He shines brighter than the diamonds that he wears on his fingers and brings light and life to any darkened stage. His knowledge of Carol’s life and history is impeccable. His “garage-grown” boys enhance an added flavor to the show (can I get the recipe?) I am looking forward to seeing this show on Broadway where it belongs. |
