City, State: Westport, Ct. Website: Leslieorofino@aol.com Comments: Richard, I was so happy to be at your birthday show with my husband Tom. The audience was thrilled from start to finish. My favorite moment was Blondes with your trio. So adorable. And the way you engage everyone in the audience in your signature style. What a great evening. Three more to go at the Wings Theatre. I am telling all my friends. With Love, Leslie www.Leslieorofino.com
City, State: New York, NY Comments: I happily attended the show Sunday afternoon with my friend Jenny Lynn Stewart. In additional to the masterful artistry of Richard, the brilliance of Carol's spontaneous chat with the audience members, and her dazzling charm, one is embraced, inspired, and uplifted in an atmosphere of pure, unadulterated love. Bravo, brava, and thank you! (May I add my own wishes for a gloriously happy birthday!)
City, State: NYC Website: http://www.karenoberlin.com/ Comments: If you haven't already been, you MUST go see Richard Skipper's show. The show itself is entrancing and a phenomenon, but his extemporaneous q & a and "let's chat" moments are hilarious, while remaining utterly endearing. It holds together so beautifully as a show with the perfect recipe of patter, songs, and of course... HE IS CAROL!!! Only one week left, and I know you'd be sorry to miss it. I saw it today, and it was sold out -- don't wait to make your reservations! Karen

City, State: LONG ISLAND, NEW YORK Website: http://www.karensaunders.com/homepage.htm Comments: I saw Richard Skipper last night in his latest incarnation as Carol Channing. Except for performing with him on a Lyrics and Lyricists program at the 92nd Street Y, I have never seen a full performance before and last night I did. He was wonderful. He embodied Carol from the moment he stepped foot onto the stage. I couldn't find him in her and believe me I looked! "She" looked beautiful in her gowns. She made us laugh with her off the cuff remarks and easy chatter with the audience. She told us about her life in words and song such as Elaine Stritch and Bea Arthur did. The show is in its infancy as a 2 act play/concert but Richard isn't. He's been honing this craft for a very long time and it shows and its wonderful. He's got Carol down pat; every nuance is there. He's done Carol proud and even SHE says so. Miss Channning is behind him one hundred percent. Right now, Richard is expanding his horizons by doing a 2 hour "Carol Channing in Concert" Off Broadway at the Wings Theatre , 154 Christopher Street. The tickets are only $20. What a fun/interesting/different/ wonderful way to spend a Friday Night. 1-212-627-2961 for reservations. Even if you've already seen him, try and come, once again. It would be wonderful if the place could be packed to the rafters. It would be wonderful if people in the community would support a performer that has , through his own efforts and determination, developed his character this far and...is finally on the road to broader recognition of his work. Interest is being shown in this production. Backers have been showing up and speaking with him about the next step. Please help him along so that tonight will be another "moment" for him in his career. Last night, Marge Champion, Celeste Holm and Sondra Lee(Minnie Fay opposite Carol in Hello Dolly) went to see the show........and People Magazine!!!!! I think he's deserving of your support....besides the fact that you'll have a wonderful time. Get in on the ground floor. Bring along someone with you. Have a great time tonight and do something wonderful for a fellow performer. Thanks, Karen Saunders |
