City, State: Stony Point, NY Comments: After years of wanting to see Richard's show, I was finally able to go last night. I went with my mother, and we both absolutely LOVED it! At one point during the show, my mother leaned over to me and said "That's Carol". He is so convincing as Carol, you forget that it's not actually Carol. He doesn't "become" Carol, he IS Carol. And his improv with the audience was SO hilarious...what a great, GREAT show! Also, his back up dancers/singers were just adorable. I would love to see this show again (mom too!). Thank you for a great night.
City, State: NYC Comments: Hi Everybody! Richard Skipper is one of the true stars of Musical Theater, whether he is impersonating Carol Channing in the most authentic and respectful way or performing as himself. This show is a real must-see and is an Equity Showcase, so Equity members don't pay. But even if you have to pay, Richard is worth every penny and more. We were totally blown away by this super-star. He does Carol Channing, better than Carol Channing! Enjoy, Chris Kelley Karel and Chuck Karel
City, State: Las Vegas, Nevada Website: http://www.entertainment-network.info/ Comments: What makes Richard Skipper great is that he is ethical & professional, pays attention to detail, looks like the younger Carol Channing, sings in his own voice like she did/does... he is a wonderful emcee and impromptu comedian who loves people, gives his time and talent to causes, loves entertaining and makes everyone feel important....PLUS he has the desire to assist other artists to be the best they can be; secure with his own image. City, State: NYC Comments: Richard, dear~ As per your request in the Elegant Diamond newsletter, I sent a letter recommending Carol for a Kennedy Center Honor. She is soooo deserving, not only for her contribution to the American Musical Theater, but also for her contributions to society in the form of scholarships, etc. Oh, Richard! Do you think that one day we'll see her on stage in Washington? Damn! I hope so! Richard, my sweet guy ~ oh how I'd love to see you honored in some way... Richard, you ARE a treasure, and this guy so appreciates you. No doubt about it, you must receive hundreds of mail each day praising your talent, but, you terrific guy, this one is quite sincere. Hugging you...(and sending you some XXXXX), Paul
City, State: NYC Comments: Richard Skipper is a master of creating the right energy for the size of whatever space he is singing in. I've seen him sing in front of 50 or so people and in front of 700 or 800 people and each audience was completely drawn in and he had them wrap around his little finger! |
