City, State: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma Comments: The 210 Prime Timers from all over the USA who attended the Prime Timers Labor Day Weekend 2007,at the Habana Inn in Oklahoma City, were delighted to hear Richard Skipper's "Carol Channing in Concert". Richard does Carol better than Carol ever did, even in her prime entertainment days. Richard is a top notch entertainer, and was very gracious in allowing me to accompany him in the performance which was great fun, and also put the show within our budget. City, State: Altamonte Springs, Florida Comments: Let me start off by saying that your performance was EXCELLENT !! (I really think it was FABULOUS, but that sounds kind of trite) I had seen "Carol" perform two years prior and remembered how great you were. And, usually when a performer has discovered a successful formula they don't deviate much so as not to spoil a sure thing, so even though I only expected pretty much of a repeat performance, that was good enough for me, so I hastened to your scheduled performance in the Pocono's where I was spending a week last August. Boy, was I in for a pleasant surprise. The show was at least 80% new material, and far from not meeting expectations, it was superb! We even got to hear some favorites that had been replaced by new material by forcing you to at least 3 encores. I'm sure we all would have enjoyed you continuing for another hour, but the disco was beckoning and they were not serving drinks in the auditorium .......... so as all good things, we let you go finally, and ended another memorable evening with Ms. Channing. I can't wait until our paths cross again.
City, State: Dover, Delaware Comments: What an absolute delight it was seeing Richard Skipper perform in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware! Having seen Carol on stage several times, I can say that Richard has not only the voice, looks and mannerisms down perfectly, but he also has the rare quality and "little something extra" to be able to capture Carol's personality and infectious enthusiasm. This was not an impersonator "doing" Carol Channing, this was a show as Carol herself would have done it, done by a very talented man. Kudos to you Richard, as a fan of Carol, I am now a fan of yours. Hope to see you perform again soon. Thanks!!!!!!
City, State: Summit, NJ Website: www.12mileswest.org Comments: Usually we are hosting Richard Skipper at our theatre (The 12 Miles West Theatre in Bloomfield, NJ) and we don't always get the chance to focus on his performance. What a treat!! Tricia and I loved every moment, and even forgot we were watching him. His talent shows no bounds. Hope to work with Richard Skipper once again in the near future.
