City, State: New York, NY Comments: I recently saw Richard Skipper as Carol in Maryland over Memorial weekend. That makes about the sixth time I have seen him, the first time being November 1964 at the St James Theater in New York. No wait, that was CAROL! Richard is so perfect as his alter ego that I sometimes get my performances confused.

June 12th 2007 Dear friend Richard Skipper, Recently, in New York, at a gala event celebration for the American Theatre Wing, you brought a surprise on June Fourth of 2007. You performed for a newcomer to the field of entertainment, a Ms. Carol Channing. She is young, beautiful, and inexperienced but you honored her anyway. Richard, you helped bring the audience to celebrate a great legend. The following evening you had prepared a venue for a gift to a Foundation for the Arts. Again, Carol Channing was honored by you. You are donating the revenue to the Dr. Carol Channing Foundation for the Arts. These funds will be used to reestablish arts in education for the 6 1/2 million pubic school students in California. Hopefully, this will become an avalanche and a boon for our kids. Thank you Richard for your continued assistance to restore society with a rich culture that brings honor to us all. The highlight of the evening was a surprise visit by the FANTASTIC Richard Skipper as Carol Channing! Richard was not only in great form and wonderful voice, I was so impressed how he remembered all the words of the song "WIDOWS WEED." BRILLIANT! As well, I was sitting next to a women from Indiana who turned to me and asked if CAROL CHANNING performs at BIRDLAND often! She actually thought Richard was Carol as I am sure others did as well! Richard my dear, I have been saying for years, SOMEONE GET THIS SHOW TO LAS VEGAS!!!!!
City, State: Eastchester, NY Comments: What a great night at "Helen's" last week for Carol Channing's charity event. Richard Skipper gets better each and every time I see him perform. It's no wonder Carol Channing herself is such a big fan of his. There were moments you would swear it was Carol herself on stage. Richard loves what he's doing and he does it well. His backup singers, musical combo and the extensive material all meshed into a totally enjoyable evening.

Skipper is a great singer, the exact image of 1960's era Carol, and incredibly witty. Look forward to seeing his show and him again soon. |
