Wow. Two Carol Channings on the same stage. That's something you don't see every day, and we're all the poorer for it. Congratulations, Richard, on a knockout performance before a sold out crowd at Helen's on Tuesday evening benefiting the Dr. Carol Channing-Harry Kullijian Endowment For The Arts (a performance made all the more special with Carol and Harry in attendance). If I closed my eyes, I couldn't be sure which of you were speaking to us. Such talent, such wit, such charm, and a nice pair of legs to boot.
It's not many performers who have the undeniable affection and fondness of the celebrity they portray as Miss Channing displayed for you that night. You are a very lucky and talented man.

I must weigh in and say what an amazing show Richard delivered last night at Helen's. And like Leslie Orofino, I had a great view of Carol Channing watching Richard as Carol Channing and was she thrilled! She just loved what Carol on stage was doing and saying. The evening was outstanding. I have seen Richard's show many times but last night brought me to tears. Richard, your presence, your acting, everything was so very special and on! I am kvelling!
Love you and thank you for all you do and represent.
Linda

I just had to tell the world what a MARVELOUS time we had at Richard Skipper's show, "Carol Channing In Concert!" at Helen's. Watching Carol Channing watching the other Carol Channing ( Richard Skipper) was a delight. Richard was in top form singing to a Sold Out Room with the Paul Stephan Group ( 5 piece band and 4 backup singers). This show deserves a Broadway run! One more thing.... Neil Sedaka was Richard's surprise guest star and sang "Where The Boys Are" after telling the audience he wrote this song for Connie Francis. What a night. Don't miss the next one. Sitting in the audience was Marge Champion , Carol Channing and her husband Harry, Ervin and Edith Drake, and Rex Reed. Wow!

I had the opportunity to see Richard's performance one more time as Carol over Memorial Day weekend in Maryland. As always he was wonderful; if you blinked you swore it was Carol at her peak sometime in the early 60's. Richard has her voice, mannerisms, and warmth down to an exact science. His quick wit and audience interaction all add to the wonderful renditions of many of Carol's most well known songs. He is a true professional; warm and funny off stage as Richard; funny, sassy, and musically talented as Carol onstage. It is an incredibly quick one hour; if you love Broadway and love Carol, you've got to see his show!

Hope you enjoyed the Hillary pix. We are so looking forward to seeing your act, I can hardly stand it. It was such a kick hearing you and my husband, Chuck ("The Charlie Karel") swap stories. Looking forward to continuing the stories ASAP. I hope you get a chance to catch my Hillary act someday, and see that I actually can make her funny. Loved "Carol's" comment about Hillary being funny. That was funny. I hope we've found a new friend. You sound so delightful.
