City, State: Vernon, NJ Website: www.eProductionsLLC.com Comments: I was fortunate to get a reservation to see “Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Richard Skipper, But Were Afraid To Ask”, a one-person show, when he was appearing in Valley Cottage, NY. My friend and I were delighted that we attended. In my business, I see many shows ranging from Broadway to Cabaret, and it’s rare to discover that I smile from the opening number to its closing. Richard Skipper is a consummate performer who exudes charm and finesses the audience like the superb artist that he is. I believe I have only seen one star that had a similar structure that incorporated their set with improvisation and tied them all together so smoothly. He proudly declares his age at one point. Most singers at that age have retired or can no longer sing. Not the case with him. The voice, presentation, and his command and connection with song lyrics are outstanding, and coupled with Richard’s exceptionally witty improvisation skills, are top-notch. The show was not just a cabaret performance, but an interactive experience. I laughed loudly when he uncannily dealt with a mobile phone that rang while he was answering a question (those questions were from the audience who had written before the show started). If anyone knows of the late Dame Edna, they would appreciate that Richard handled the lady’s phone call better than the Dame would have. Another entertaining moment was when another lady stood up during his patter to leave. Richard wasted NO time in verifying her reason for her departure and agreed to halt the show until she returned. (Hysterical!) To “fill in until her return,” he gave his uber-talented musical director a bigger chance to shine. He added a number (an audience request). Even Patti LuPone wouldn’t have been as kind or humble in either audience-interrupting situation. Richard Skipper is the supreme artist who makes each audience member feel loved and appreciated, and it’s evident throughout the entire show. He knows every person in attendance had a choice in where they could be that night, but we chose to spend it with him. And what a great time! It was a well-spent 90 minutes. City, State: Nyack, NY Comments: Saw Richard for the first time this week. His razzle dazzle pulled me right in, only to be further blown away by the depth and humanity that just oozes from him. I got a glimpse of, not only a wonderful talent, but an extraordinary and soulful human being, I laughed a lot and he even made me cry when he sang Moon River. I left feeling uplifted. Thank you, Richard. Looking forward to more. Susan Ulintz, Nyack, NY

He has a great voice and knows how to interact with his audience. At one point a person’s phone went off and he handled it with humor and professionalism. If you get the opportunity to see him, go!!
