We had such a great time seeing Richard as Carol Channing -- though the 'Richard' part eased into the background as Carol came to the fore. Within minutes, we were being entertained by Carol - with her sibilant "ssss" and broad lipsticked grin. We were lucky enough to be selected by Richard for some audience interaction, and being long-time fans of Carol Channing, we had some knowledge of her career and background. We made an appropriately esoteric inquiry and without skipping a beat she (sic) replied with wit and the wide-eyes faux-naivete that kind of became trademark.
Well - enough of my accolades! See this show!! And try to sit close enough so you can catch some of the jewels that will be tossed out into the audience!
So much fun!

"Richard is smashing... and Carol's not half-bad either.
Together a fabulous combo. I came away from opening night understanding not only why Richard is such a success, but why Mrs. Channing is such an icon. Richard totally embodied her grace charm and graciousness. That's what true icons, especially of that era possess.
My friend was singing along to every tune, and so was I.

I'd, honestly, never been interested in Carol Channing before seeing Richard's show. Richard GOT me interested in her. With his inspired sense of mimicry wedded to a genuine empathy for his subject, he won me over and made want to spend MORE time with both him and her.

The show was great and Richard Skipper is a STAR but he should know that already. I have told lots of folks about the fun I had and that they should go see the Carol they remember.

Not a false moment was witnessed by Ruth and I on the the opening of the new theater piece created by Richard Skipper as Carol Channing. Sitting there with smiles on our faces forgetting that we were not seeing our friend Richard, but Carol herself is not an easy task.He as Carol, pulls it off in the most entertaining way. What a terrific show! Give yourself a treat and go. You won't be disappointed.
