I had the pleasure of attending the debut of "Richard Skipper Celebrates 60 Years of Hello Dolly" last night and it was a joy to behold! And I say "debut" because this show has legs that I hope will travel far and wide. Informative, entertaining, and heartwarming - this is a show that highlights not only the wonders of Hello Dolly and Carol Channing, but also shines a light on Richard's many talents. Richard is a singer, comedian, interviewer, musical theater historian, and engaging all around performer who draws you in with both humorous and poignant stories about his deep connection to the material. It all makes for a delightful evening - Go!

“Richard Skipper Celebrates 60 Years of HELLO DOLLY” is an absolute joyride. For the uninitiated, Richard establishes himself in the first moments as uniquely situated and suited to be our reliable narrator with his serendipitous and synchronistic personal connection to Carol Channing … and the stories, video testimonials and showbiz stories overflow from there. Brilliantly crafted and Directed by James Beaman the show is deliciously smart, filled with laughter, surprises and genuine sentiment. Music Director Dan Pardo is a perfect foil and conspirator in the merriment … and Special Guest Lee Roy Reams stopped the show with “Penny in My Pocket.”
Best of all, this show is the the intersection of all of Richard’s talents: as an entertainer with Broadway sized pipes, as a raconteur, as a host and as an absolutely charming and disarming conduit to the magic of Carol Channing. “Wow Wow Wow!” 🎶♥️🎶, Jeff Harnar
