Dear Richard,
You were a ray of sunshine last evening at your performance at the Salmagundi Club for the Coffee House!
You turned a gloomy Wednesday into a celebration of life with your enormous talent and goodwill.
So interesting to hear about your journey from South Carolina to becoming one of New York’s most iconic entertainers.
Please come back soon-πŸ™
Bravo!!πŸ‘β€οΈπŸ‘πŸŽΆ

It was a dark and stormy night (no, I'm not about to write a melodrama;-) and cold and wet, I arrived at the Salmagundi Club in NYC to see Richard Skipper do a very brave thing......take cards just turned in by the audience, asking all kinds of questions that he'd not seen in advance. He answered anything we asked, often accompanying the answer with a relevant song, sung from his heart. Richard has a way of making EVERYone feel important, validated. He ended the evening by singing "Let There Be Peace on Earth," inviting the audience to join in as he repeated it. We all left with more hope than we arrived with. Thank you to this beautiful human being called Richard Skipper.

We absolutely loved Richard Skipper Celebrates Hello, Dolly! (no surprise to moi, as Richard has always put his heart and soul into everything he does) And boy, we wound up with the best seats in the house. I mean..my wife was both the recipient of his first rose..which she proudly displayed in our kitchen..and his "Don't do it without a Skipper" adieu. (As brilliantly improvisational as he is , he DOES orchestrate other aspects of the show so that it comes full-circle!)

As I mentioned to him after the performance, I was never really even a fan of "Dolly"..or Merman..or Mary Martin..or even Streisand..well..other than on the awesome "Broadway" album. (I did really enjoy and admire Carol as both an ENTERTAINER and as a person. She was unique). But Richard could do a show on my least favorite musical, "Cats" (well..'least favorite' other than for my MOST fave live singer ever, my friend, the late Laurie Beechman and I would probably want to go see it!
